Human AMBRA1, which encodes a deduced 1,269-amino acid protein. Ambra1 was expressed throughout development in mice, with strong staining in the neuroepithelium. Regulates autophagy and development of the nervous system. Involved in autophagy in controlling protein turnover during neuronal development, and in regulating normal cell survival and proliferation. Interacts with BECN1. Probably forms a complex with BECN1 and PIK3C3.
A synthesized peptide derived from Human AMCase.
A synthesized peptide derived from human AMD1, corresponding to a region within N-terminal amino acids.
This gene encodes an important intermediate enzyme in polyamine biosynthesis. The polyamines spermine, spermidine, and putrescine are low-molecular-weight aliphatic amines essential for cellular proliferation and tumor promotion. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been identified. Pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosomes 5, 6, 10, X and Y.
