CD56 is a membrane glycoprotein that plays an important role in embryonic development and neural cell interaction. CD56 is widely found in neurons, glial cells, skeletal muscle cells, most types of neuroendocrine cells, and various epithelial cells. In the hematopoietic system, CD56 is a prototypical marker of NK cells and is also present in CD4+ and CD8+ T cell subsets. It is mainly used in the diagnosis and research of neuroectodermal tumors, small cell lung cancer and NK cell lymphoma.
CD57, a glycoprotein linked to myelin, is present in Schwann cells and mainly marks germinal center T cells, NK cells, and oligodendrocytes. This antibody is mainly used in the diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors and NK cell tumors.
CD5 antigen is a transmembrane glycoprotein, which is expressed on the surface of almost all mature human T cells (about 10% of CD4 + T cells are CD5 -). In immature (CD34 +) T cells, the expression of CD5 is weak, and the expression intensity increases with maturation. CD5 is also expressed in a small number of normal human B cells (20% of B cells were in peripheral blood, scattered in the mantle region of lymph nodes).
